Summary


Division of Administration employee. Responsibilities include using accounting theory and practice to ensure the agency applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards correctly and consistently. The incumbent will provide support to agency personnel with their accounting needs.


Job Functions


  • Assist with Front Office coverage and various duties as needed.
  • Respond to external compliance/audit requests
  • Complete financial account reconciliations, research errors, and prepare journal entries to process corrections.
  • Review monthly program area financial statements and perform fiscal year-end closeout.
  • Research and compile financial information and prepare summaries and reports.
  • Monitor agency cash balances.
  • Develop and prepare financial documents.
  • Analyze and interpret regulations and policies.
  • Input and tracking of purchase order, expenditures, travel request and voucher, budgetary, financial plan, and p-card transactions.
  • Assist with various agency payroll responsibilities.
  • Prepare, process, and reconcile invoices and accounts receivable billing statements.
  • Inventory and monitor agency assets.


Additional Functions


  • Demonstrates timely and consistent attendance.
  • Any additional duties as assigned by State Controller or his/her designee.
  • Contributes to the positive performance of the Division of Administration and the office.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Good organizational, problem solving and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks individually and work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Understand and follow best practices to protect sensitive and confidential information such as SSN’s and banking information.
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team member.
  • Strong sense of customer service and professionalism, even in a sometimes-stressful environment.
  • Consistent thoroughness, excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while being interrupted and to adapt to constantly changing situations.
  • Ability to maintain consistent and reliable attendance throughout the regularly scheduled workweek.
  • Good understanding of internal control practices and procedures.
