Job Description
Our partner is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team in Phoenix, AZ. The Controller will be responsible for managing finances, driving strategic breakthroughs, and fostering creativity to boost revenue. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of finance, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for immersing themselves in the core of the business.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage the automated preparation of payroll tax payments and returns for 700+ clients across 50 states.
  • Monitor cash flow, forecast cash needs, optimize working capital, and manage relationships with banks and financial institutions
  • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and performance metrics tracking. Offer decision support through financial modeling, cost analysis, profitability analysis, and investment evaluations
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records
  • Lead the budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop budgets, monitor budget performance, and provide financial forecasts and projections
  • Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction or optimization
  • Supervise the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial statements
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. Ensure accurate financial transactions and implement efficient processes
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the financial audit process and address any audit findings or recommendations


Requirements


  • Advanced computer skills, including advanced Excel (VBA, Python for Excel Automation, SQL for Excel Data Management, Power Query Language, Data Visualization & Dashboards) or SQL programming language
  • Advanced analytical and organizational abilities
  • Profound knowledge of Payroll, Employer Taxes, and Insurance
  • Strong collaboration skills to work closely with all members of the organization to achieve financial objectives
  • A minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in financial management roles.
  • Proven track record of exceptional people management skills
