Job Description

One of our clients is seeking a Financial Controller and Assistant Financial Controller.


The compensation will range from $125,000-$150,000 based on experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Cash Flow Management: Develop and maintain a 13-week rolling cash flow forecast with high precision. Participate in inventory management meetings, reduce prepaid balances, enhance Deposit Verification procedures, and establish a proof of cash process. Implement branch check scanners to facilitate prompt deposits.
  • Other: Provide support for ad hoc requests and special projects, such as BI implementation.
  • Accounting Systems Oversight: Serve as a subject matter expert for the general ledger system, A/P automation system, travel expense management system, and other core accounting systems.
  • Business Performance Enhancement: Maximize vendor payment discounts, support sourcing initiatives by managing standard costs, lead performance reporting for the Rental business segment, contribute to Freight initiatives, assist in managing OCGS Operating Expenses, and provide support for CIP initiatives.
  • M&A Integration: Lead the financial integration of newly acquired companies.
  • Oversee Accounting Procedures: Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes following GAAP standards. Contribute to the development and implementation of updated accounting policies and procedures. Lead the financial audit process. Review manual journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensure robust controls over Revenue Recognition. Validate completed Financial Statements for accuracy and proper system integration. Verify reserves and accruals. Establish and maintain a web-based data room for month-end close documentation.
  • Talent Development: Manage and nurture the growth of staff, including Quatrro resources. Drive process enhancements for increased productivity, ensure cross-training coverage, and balance workloads throughout the month.
  • Asset Protection: Ensure timely management of vendor receivables, minimize E&O reserve requirements, oversee prepaid inventory, and enforce controls for disbursement and payroll processes.
  • Tax Compliance: Support external income tax preparation, ensure adherence to revenue and indirect tax regulations, and verify compliance with sales and use tax requirements.
  • Adaptability: Respond positively to changes and perform other duties as necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Oversight of Accounting and Finance departments
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Budget development and management experience
  • Proficiency in high-level reporting
  • Effective Leadership and Problem-Solving skills
  • Preferred CPA designation, but not mandatory
  • Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and precision
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP
  • Essential experience with NetSuite


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Analytical skills to identify patterns, draw conclusions, and provide actionable recommendations based on data and information.
  • Capability to interpret technical instructions, both mathematical and diagrammatic, dealing with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and reach valid conclusions.
  • Efficient utilization of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficiency in applying mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, test reliability determination, variance analysis, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
