Delta Fuel Company is dedicated to recruiting a strong financial based, self-starter, process-oriented professional to join our team as a Financial Analyst. The Analyst works with various departments within the organization to identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve business processes, decision support tools, and develop financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of industry leaders and integrate yourself into a growing, family-owned company. This position can be located at our headquarters in Natchez, MS or has potential for hybrid position for the right candidate. Some travel will be required.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by management
  • Collaborate with management teams on developing standardized operating procedures and documenting best practice guides
  • Develop and own financial and operational reporting for organization
  • Research, analyze and evaluate various new software / business development platforms as needed
  • Maintain and distribute daily and monthly reporting packages to operational management teams
  • Work with various departments on business needs regarding reporting, dashboards, and data collection to help streamline the organization
  • Analyze financial performance and research variances, including budget to actual metrics and drivers
  • Assist Finance team on analysis work, including modeling for potential acquisitions and special projects as needed


Requirements


  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to travel to operational branches periodically and as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with attention to details
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred – heavily finance-focused personality is a plus
  • Previous experience with the petroleum products industry a plus
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and analytical skills
  • Comfortable with deadlines and achieving targets or goals
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting is a plus but not required
  • Strong organization skills and ability to multitask
