Financial Accounting Responsibilities (COPAS and U.S GAAP experience required) Prepare monthly Capital Projects and Well Work Expense accruals, in conjunction and coordination with Operations Department Create monthly Authority for Expenditure (AFE) and Capital spend reports, conduct analysis of material variances, review with Operations personnel Manage AFEs with entry to W Energy Record Depletion, Asset Retirement Obligation, Work in Progress reclass, and Misc Operational focused Journal Entries Manage operational budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes Hold relationships within the organization that allows management and adherence to the monthly financial close process and schedule Assist in the review and development of accounting policies Other projects and tasks as assigned Financial Reporting Prepare, review, and analyze financial reporting statement supporting schedules and disclosures Serve as key resource managing the company's external auditors and corporate tax provider Identify and manage opportunities to automate reporting and analysis processes The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to identify and lead projects and see them through to completion. This may include initiatives for cost reductions, efficiency gains, and process improvements. Requirements Minimum of 4 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, with Colorado, New Mexico experience a plus Minimum of 5 years financial planning and accounting experience Experience with W Energy, and COGNOS reporting a plus Experience with Microsoft PowerBI a plus Experience working in a growing start up environment strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business required Flexibility to grow and change with company needs Ability to work independently and as part of a team PI229480821
