Fin Machine Operator 1St Shift

Machine Operator is responsible to run machinery to produce daily customer orders on designated product lines.

• Ensure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output
• Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running Perform basic troubleshooting of problems during machine operation
• Participate in production process improvement efforts.
• Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift
• Perform the operation of machines on designated product lines according to the production schedule
• Ensure all safety devices and guards are fully operational and that safety procedures are being observed
• Create and maintain activity/job logs as required
• Meet specified production performance targets
• Record all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required

Requirements

• Basic mathematical skills
• Critical “Cause and Effect” analytical abilities. (i.e., If I do this, that will happen.)
• Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of shop safety protocols
• Experience with Robinson and/or Voss fin machines preferred
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
• Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
• Physical stamina and strength to lift up to 30 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
• Ability to read blueprints and manuals. Knowledge of GD&T preferred.
