About the Role:


Honest Networks is seeking Field Technician Installers who are enthusiastic about expanding our internet network services! As an Installer, your primary responsibility will be installing equipment, terminating connections, conducting tests, and troubleshooting various cabling for our residential customers. We cover metro regions in New York City, suburban neighborhoods like Westchester County, NY, and nearby cities like Jersey City, NJ, and Stamford, CT. You will work with Ethernet and Coax cabling (fiber experience a plus), handling their installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.


This position offers a dynamic, fast-paced work environment where you will be responsible for independently completing up to 5 residential installations per day. As an Installer, it is essential to be comfortable and willing to utilize public transportation to commute to and from appointments within New York City and the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:


  • Monitor network performance and promptly address and resolve connectivity issues to maintain optimal service
  • Collaborate with Honest’s management and staff to resolve complex networking issues promptly
  • Install networking equipment in customers' apartments, ensuring proper setup and configuration
  • Maintain accurate records of troubleshooting activities, including detailed problem descriptions, actions taken, and resolutions implemented
  • Educate customers on the effective usage of our products and services, providing them with necessary information and guidance
  • Run ethernet and coax cabling within customers' apartments for optimal connectivity
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing concerns promptly and professionally
  • Manage appointment calendar and meet scheduled appointment windows
  • Provide knowledgeable guidance to customers on optimizing network performance and resolving basic connectivity issues or concerns


Requirements


  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Authorized to work in the U.S
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces
  • Capable of lifting up to 55 lbs
  • Willing to travel to appointments within New York City and the surrounding areas using public transportation.
  • Willing to adopt a flexible work schedule
  • Comfortable using mass transit to commute during the day while traveling to and from appointments
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions year-round
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • 1-3 years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing ethernet and coax infrastructures or similar cabling experience
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Familiarity working with hand and power tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction


Nice to Have:


  • Relevant certifications or technical training in networking or telecommunications
  • Familiarity with optical testing equipment
  • Ability to install and repair fiber optic cable
  • Strong understanding of IP networking and Ethernet protocols
