Field Service Technician
Job Overview
The Field Service Technician/Engineer is part of the design and fulfillment team that builds and delivers KORE’s custom-engineered battery energy storage solutions.
Work is primarily based out of our Waterbury, Vermont office. However, you are required to travel to the customer's site during system construction and integration.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for production activities to ensure quality control and production efficiency.
- Involved in all aspects of battery energy storage system production and integration, including electrical, mechanical, and controller fabrication.
- Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology, and production processes.
- Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.
- Follow safety procedures and report any safety concerns to the Compliance and Safety Officer or Production Manager.
- Assisting with system installations at customer sites as needed.
Reports To
The position will report to the Project Operations Manager and the Lead Field Engineer for field service work and the Production Manager for onsite production work.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Mechanical and electrical experience working in engineering production or a related field.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Experience operating hand and power tools.
- A firm grasp of engineering concepts; experience with mechanical systems and products is helpful.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
Physical Requirements
- Good manual dexterity is required for assembly and production work.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device.
- Standing for extended periods is common.
- Some heavy lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force may be required.
Work Environment
- The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional manufacturing or production setting.
- Secondary job requirements include travel with fieldwork which can consist of hiking, construction work, moving heavy objects, and wearing PPE for specific tasks.
