Your Profile

  • This a Seasonal Engineer position, you may select between the 1664, 1560, and 1248 tier Seasonal hour programs. You should expect to work away from your home location an average of 150-200 days per year with about 70% travel. Individual assignments are typically 2 to 10 weeks in duration. When on assignment, working schedules are typically 10-12 hours per day, 6-7 days per week, day, or night shift. Seasonal engineers may live where they want as long as they are located within a reasonable distance from a major airport.
  • Experience leading safety programs, performing maintenance on large turbine generators or in a similar industrial environment with risks and hazards that require the use of practices and procedures intended to keep personnel safe and maintain a safe work environment. This includes but is not limited to use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and pre-job safety briefs or risk assessments.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfer.
  • As a field service engineer, you will report to the Siemens Energy Service Headquarters in Orlando, FL or a District Service Office located around the country.
  • As a federal contractor, Siemens Energy continues to monitor federal and state legal guidelines regarding the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Siemens Energy is pausing its mandatory vaccine policy while the issue is addressed by the courts. SEI will monitor the situation closely and may reimplement its policy if required to comply with federal law. Should the vaccine policy be reimplemented, this position requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are granted a medical or religious accommodation.
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering/Engineering Technology Preferred and 5 years of experience to be considered for a level 7. Candidates with 8 or more years of experience may be considered for a level 6 position
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and following technical drawings, schematics and written work instructions/procedures.
  • Experience working with union labor and working with complex schedules, including familiarity with related software such as Primavera and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in leading the general maintenance of large turbine generators, power plant auxiliaries or heavy equipment

Your responsibilities

  • Review complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provide continual mentorship throughout task duration.
  • May be required to complete the planning and estimating of resources and durations required for specific scopes of work for customer proposals.
  • Lead and direct subcontractors to perform specific maintenance related tasks and serve is the primary Siemens Energy jobsite contact.
  • Travel to Siemens Energy customer power plants throughout the US and internationally to perform maintenance, repair, and modification of large steam and gas turbine generators and related equipment.
  • Complete and submit detailed reports covering all job activity.
  • Leading job site safety programs and performs complex site surveys to develop maintenance plans.
  • Supervision of mechanical maintenance crews ranging in size from 1 to 30 persons disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling large steam/gas turbine generators.
