The Fatherhood Initiative, in conjunction with Oklahoma Cooperative Extension, Oklahoma State University’s Human Development and Family Science department and OKDHS, is a grant funded program designed to enhance men’s involvement in family life through a 12-week educational program. The program coordinator position involves recruiting 4 groups of fathers per year and delivering in-person the evidence based 24/7 DAD program which focuses on increasing fathers’ parenting knowledge and skills, enhancing fathers’ relationship and co-parenting skills, and improving economic stability for the fathers’ and their families. The coordinators will also provide case management services to fathers as needed. This is a grant funded position contingent upon performance and available funding.


Position Duties:


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Facilitate and deliver programming
  • Plan events and activities related to programming
  • Assist in purchasing of materials and management of state and county budgets and expenses (e.g., pcard) related to programs
  • Assist in data management and collection
  • Conduct case management of participants
  • Assist the OSU state level Fatherhood Program Coordinator with other responsibilities as assigned
  • Assist in the development of dissemination tools (e.g., reports, impact statements, newsletters, recruitment, advertising, and fact sheets)
  • Develop community partnerships
  • Recruit the determined number of fathers in each cohort to participate in programming
  • Provide day to day leadership and timeline management for the 24/7 DAD program

Required:


High School/GED


4 years’ experience in project management, human development and family science or closely related field. One year minimum experience teaching or delivering and managing community programs.


Valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation for travel within the State of Oklahoma.


  • Knowledge of office management software programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Teams)
  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines and benchmarks.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse community and administrative personnel -Possess good technical writing skills
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.


Preferred:


Bachelor's degree


  • Degree in Human Development and Family Science or closely related field
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Prior experience working with men.
