Summary:


The Feed Mill Manager at the Sheep Discovery Center is responsible for overseeing the nutrition and feeding of the animals at the facility. Working closely with the General Manager and a nutritionist, the Feed Mill Manager is involved in the construction of a state-of-the-art feed kitchen, the development of feed rations, and the daily operation of the feeding system.


They lead and manage the feed team, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of feed, while also monitoring quality control and compliance with regulations.


The Feed Mill Manager develops department budgets, manages inventory, and stays up-to-date with industry knowledge. They also maintain a clean and functioning feed kitchen by developing a maintenance schedule and standard operating procedures.


Qualifications/ Requirements


  • Animal care and nutrition: 1 year (Required)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable mode of transportation.
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software,


Work Environment: The employee is expected to work in conditions with high levels of noise and exposure to airborne particles. They may be required to work near moving mechanical parts, in outdoor weather conditions, and in high, precarious places. It is also mentioned that the employee may be required to use a respirator and would need to undergo pulmonary function and respirator fit tests. It is important for employees to understand these conditions to ensure their safety and well-being while performing their job duties.


Physical Demands:


  • Be able to lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Work in confined spaces, and must be able to work at heights and in inclement weather.
  • May require the employee to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as to be on call as needed.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity, and must be able to use tools and equipment safely and effectively.
