This position will support the Nevada program by providing assistance in the areas of foster family recruiting and general office support. This position will work under the direction of the Program Supervisor/Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the office and the support in recruiting foster families to the agency. Family Development staff walk side-by-side with current and prospective foster parents, developing rapport and inspiring trust. The Family Development staff are responsible for recruiting, supporting families through the process, and approving resource parents who are appropriate families for A Greater Hope [AGH].


  • This position requires regular and consistent attendance, excessive absences are disruptive to our Agency business.


Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure smooth operations of the office including all needed supplies are available at all times.
  • Ensure that all machines, computers and phones are repaired when needed in a timely manner.
  • Connect with prospective families through phone calls, appointments, and follow-up communications.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of prospective and current resource parents and caregivers, including tracking all inquiries made to AGH by individuals and families interested in providing foster care.

  • Follow through on commitments, letting families know that they matter.
  • Play a role in our multi-systematic approach to recruit resource families including, but not limited to: (1) creating and placing recruitment advertisements (2) make presentations to the community, church groups, civic groups, etc. for the purpose of recruiting and educating people about AGH’s foster care services and opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support to the programs and other staff, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, distributing program-related email communications, data entry, and preparing other documents.
  • Establish positive relationships and function as the point of contact with prospective families and all stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison and maintain relationships with the community and with other organizations, attending events, and regular participation at community meetings. This includes relationship building with prospective and current families, local business, news media, churches, community volunteers and leaders.
  • Keep the office area, including desk, visit rooms, and all other spaces neat and organized throughout the day.
  • Respond to all inquiries or requests for information through email, relevant media platforms, and telephone as assigned.
  • Be flexible and able to juggle appointments and personal interactions with families and other staff smoothly.
  • Collaborate with talented teammates to identify and solve any issues that arise.
  • Show off the agency and all that we do to support the families by walking them through the process delivering a passionate message about the benefits joining us in the service to our community.
  • Ensure that all incoming calls/emails are responded to in a timely manner and calls are referred to the appropriate staff when needed. Respond to all phone/email inquiries expediently as the first point of contact.

A successful candidate must have the following skills and experience:


  • Foster Family Agency experience preferred.
  • A Greater Hope participates in E-Verify and will verify your Social Security Number.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • All Employees are required to report all arrests within 48 hours of arrest.
  • You are an idea person and like coming up with smart, creative, and innovative solutions to new challenges
  • Must pass and remain current in CPR/First Aid.
  • You put yourself in others’ shoes and strive for positive outcomes
  • A Greater Hope includes all employees in the DMV pull notification process, notifying AGH of infractions throughout the process.
  • Having knowledge of the population served with a strong commitment to the core values to services for the children and families is preferred.

  • Be able to obtain Criminal and Child Abuse Clearance from the State of Nevada/Department of Justice.
  • Must meet County Licensing and State insurance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy practices.
  • Must pass a drug screen, physical exam, and Tuberculosis skin test. Must agree to COVID 19 Vaccination.
  • Must have a valid Nevada Driver’s License and a good driving record. Must be at least 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Must have 1 years’ experience in sales and /or clerical work or other related experience.
  • Good attention to detail, flexibility and ability to multitask.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends and some holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with computers including word processing, calendar management, software/database, and social media
  • Strong decision making abilities and the ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner when representing the agency to the public and other governing agencies.
  • Excellent communication skills; written and spoken English.

There may be situations where the employee will have to care for the personal needs of infants and children such as managing personal accidents/bathroom support, feeding and, cleaning up infants and children. The employee may be working outside for periods of time in all seasons of weather community work or home visits are required for the position.


Employees will be required to drive a motor vehicle.

Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral health problems. Hostility, aggression and unnecessary or inappropriate physical actions as well as inappropriate emotional expression are not acceptable.
