The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will provide expertise, guidance, and advice to the Ultra Maritime executive management team. In this onsite, highly visible role, the successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert(SME) for all industrial security concerns, and ensure security is perceived as a critical process in day-to-day operations. The FSO is responsible for implementing and maintaining the facility's industrial security program. The FSO should have in-depth knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual/32 CFR§117 (NISPOM) and experience with the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA).

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will provide expertise, guidance, and advice to the Ultra Maritime executive management team. Successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for all industrial security concerns, and ensure security is perceived as a critical process. This position requires excellent professional judgment and discretion, as well as the identification, analysis and recommendations and implementation of actions to be taken in security-related matters. The FSO is responsible for implementing and maintaining the facility's industrial security program. The FSO should have in-depth knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual/32 CFR§117 (NISPOM) and experience with the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA).
NOTE: This is an onsite position in Chantilly, Va.
  • Interface with prime contractors and government customers on security related issues
  • Primary POC personnel security matters with DCSA
  • Respond to emergency alarm calls off hours.
  • Perform required self-inspections of security program, resolving possible security violations and initiating measures to correct security deficiencies
  • Assist ISSM, ISSO on classified IS
  • Serve as the FSO for the Chantilly facility and manage the security program according to the NISPOM
  • Ensures up-to-date security knowledge through training, security meetings, and security-related memberships
  • Investigate and report security violations and incidents and work closely with Program Managers, employees and management to develop appropriate corrective actions
  • Prepare and review DD254s to ensure adherence to classified programs
  • Prepare and maintain all documentation required to obtain and maintain a Facility Clearance
  • Develop and administer a comprehensive security education, training, and awareness program for both cleared and non-cleared personnel, to include Initial & Annual Security Refresher, Insider Threat Program, and Quarterly Security Newsletters
  • Provide clear guidance to company employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate at all sites
  • Process visit requests for personnel and International visit requests
  • Manage the security aspects of various U.S. Government agencies’ classified programs
  • Perform maintenance in Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
  • Able to work independently with little guidance
  • Serves as the Insider Threat Program Special Officer (ITPSO)
  • Collaborate with the Ultra Maritime Security team
  • Prepare classified shipments
  • Handle minor administrative tasks as needed, postage machine,
Required Skills:
  • Thorough knowledge of DISS, NISS, and eQIP.
  • Must be proficient in prioritizing and multi-tasking
  • Must have a US Government Secret clearance. Security clearances are granted to US Citizens.
  • Must be detail orientated and highly organized
  • FSO Processing Facility Certification
Desired Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of the NISPOM / 32 CFR § 117
  • Experience interfacing with DCSA, Government customers, and executive management
  • Experience with Insider Threat Programs
  • Ethical Conduct
  • Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) experience a plus
  • Possesses solid understanding of CUI (ITAR/EAR) regulations
  • Experience performing self-inspections and taking a leadership role in DCSA Vulnerability Assessments
  • 8+ years industrial security experience with government contractor(s) preferred
  • Ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures
  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of the C&A and RMF Process
  • Candidate will exhibit characteristics of a leader who is determined, results oriented, persuasive, and a strong communicator
Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams with members from various disciplines
