Facilities Maintenance Worker Jobs

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITIONS IN THIS CLASS: Under general direction, performs work in the maintenance, security, repair and remodeling of public buildings and parks/recreation facilities, such as the shooting range, archery range, and trap club.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILLITY AND PERFORMANCE:

Performs maintenance of public buildings and facilities:

• Provide security for park facilities, including but not limited to, the locking of doors, gates, restrooms, etc. at designated times.
• Maintains jail facility
• Maintains heating and cooling system.
• Repairs fences, tables, playground equipment and irrigation equipment.
• Constructs facilities and targets.
• Notify the Supervisor, County Sheriff, and/or Recreation Superintendent of any vandalism, misconduct or other offenses and notify the Recreation Superintendent of any damage or disrepair to any park facilities, equipment or other improvements.
• Keep the park, parking lots and public right-of-ways clear of litter. Empty garbage cans in appropriate containers.
• Be informed of scheduled events at assigned recreation facility and post in appropriate location.
• Performs carpentry, painting, concrete work and maintenance of public buildings, parks/recreation facilities and other installed equipment at various public facilities.
• Paints and stains.
• Maintains electric doors.
• Move partitions, mowing, raking, watering, pulling weeds, trimming and cutting shrubs, install equipment at the trap club, archery range and gun range.
• Repairs sewer lines and plumbing fixtures.
• Enforce Sweetwater County's shooting range rules and regulations. Make sure everyone at the shooting range has completed, signed and understands the range rules.
• Clean all facilities and improvements, including but not limited to, tables, garbage cans and other amenities as needed. Keep same in safe operable condition.
