Facilities Maintenance Engineer 3 Jobs

Department of Driver Services (DDS) is seeking highly qualified applicants for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer 3 position. This position will be responsible for maintaining DDS facilities with a primary focus in the Middle third of the state. Some after-hours and weekend work that can exceed the set time schedule that is normally followed will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled work associated with the maintenance and repair of DDS facilities

• Plans, schedules, and implements maintenance activities, and appropriately prioritizes incoming work requests and emergency repairs.

• Schedules maintenance activities and prepares preventive maintenance schedules for assigned facilities and equipment.

• Performs a wide variety of maintenance and repair work in relation to the maintenance of the HVAC systems.

• Maintain fire alarms, sprinklers, cameras, and security systems for assigned DDS centers.

• Coordinates construction, renovations, repairs, and cleaning performed by contractors at assigned facilities in such a way as to minimize disruption of facility operation.

• Maintains required records and performs quarterly site inspections.

• Perform all repairs and installations in accordance with departmental standards and applicable codes to minimize call-backs and to avoid violation of building/fire codes

• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of proper construction practices, and ability to read blueprints.

• Follows all safety and other risk management policies in performing work

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience.

OR

• Four (4) years of related experience.

OR

• One year of experience at the lower level Fac Maintenance Engineer 2 (FEP041) or position equivalent.

A pre-employment background check is required for the selected candidate.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, also meet the following:

• Experience and training with HVAC Systems, Security alarms, CCTV, Access control systems, or Commercial Electrical.

• SAO Procurement Software

• Three (3) years or more supervisory experience managing construction contractors.
