Position Summary
The Extra Help (EH) Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for the provision of occupational therapy services within her or his individual scope of clinical competence including: assessment and evaluation of factors that influence occupational performance; formulating conclusions regarding the patient/client needs and priorities to develop a patient/client centered intervention plan; and selecting and implementing evidence based interventions to support participation in areas of occupation.

Hiring up to ten (10) EH Occupational Therapists with experience in acute care and/or behavioral health settings. Guaranteed weekend/holiday hours, and additional potential for weekday and evening hours. Minimum requirement is one weekend day per month with additional contribution around one summer holiday and one winter holiday for a minimum of 14 days per year.

Work experience in at least one setting (acute care or adult inpatient hospital behavioral health) is required.
Duties & Responsibilities

• The EH OT is responsible for upholding professional standards and promoting quality in practice.

• EH OT are responsible for administrative tasks related to the patient care services they provide and required for regulatory and organizational compliance.

• Provide professional therapy services in accordance with the standards established by the professional association and other relevant regulatory requirements. Supervise Occupational Therapist students.

• Complete administrative and regulatory tasks required as an employee of the UI Health and for practice as a licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Illinois.

• Other related duties as assigned.
