Job Description

EIGHT Brewing Co. – Who we are

EIGHT is on a mission to encourage the pursuit of greatness, raising a glass to special moments along the way. Headquartered in Austin, we are a celebrity-founded, Texas-bred lifestyle brand built for the “early risers” out there – those dedicated to bettering their lives through exercising religiously, consuming choicefully, staying mentally fit, and living purposeful lives. The EIGHT BREWING team is a group of no-nonsense, no ego go-getters. Like our founder, we wake up every day excited to build a first-class company in one of the world’s most competitive categories.

Experiential Manager – What you bring to the team

Simply put, you will be the face of the brand to the most critical consumers to which we cater: the hard-charging, go-getters we call Early Risers across many walks of life around the state. In this role, you will champion our brand values, seek out other like-minded men and women across your city, and recruit them to join our mission to celebrate this lifestyle, its values, and the community who aspire, in ways both big and small, to participate in it.

Your Workstyle – What you need to succeed

  • Faultless integrity – You will frequently operate in ambiguous situations with quick decision-making and minimal direction from other company resources, so we expect you to represent the brand at the highest level at all times. As a personal reflection of the rest of your team at EIGHT, you will need to hold yourself and those you deal with daily to the highest standards.
  • Love of connecting people – Fueled by genuine passion for this lifestyle and a desire to reward it wherever it can be found, you will need to seek out new connections who share our interests and use each one as a doorway to build several more. You’ll take joy and pride in putting people and groups together who appreciate one another.
  • Relentless attention to detail – At EIGHT, we believe strongly in “first class” execution at all times. We are a premium brand for which we ask the consumer to pay more. The appearance of the people, materials, and activation of the brand in the marketplace must earn this premium every day. As the Experiential Manager, you must champion these standards, in both your own work and that of our partners and collaborators.
  • High energy - Our Experiential Manager must be optimistic, relentless go-getters who are always in search of opportunities to introduce and integrate our brand into new places that embody our ethos. You will need to have your ‘antennae up’ at all times, both to find new groups who might appreciate working with our brand and to identify ways to surprise and delight existing partners further.
  • Passion for this lifestyle – As the face of our brand, you must have an authentic, long-tenured record of living as an Early Riser yourself. We seek to form authentic, trust-based connections to athletic and wellness-oriented communities around the state. To have credible conversations with such communities, you must be cut from the same cloth.

The Job – What we count on you for

We are looking for a dynamic leader and doer who has a passion for both grassroots and digital marketing to plan and lead consumer brand experience and activations. The ideal candidate will become an integral ambassador for the EIGHT brand.

This person should be a self-starter as they will work across a broad team touching many facets of our business.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Managing year long budget & report it up to leadership as directed.
  • Reporting and researching new opportunities as well as market developments.
  • Collaborating with our PR and Trade Marketing agencies as needed.
  • Liaising between consumers, venues, accounts and the EIGHT sales staff.
  • Working with local boards and partners to further integrate the brand into the Texas communities.
  • Executing weekly/monthly programming already locked in and search for new strategic event opportunities with strong ROI.
  • Planning and executing larger brand events and activations, including visits by Troy to local markets.
  • Overseeing Field Marketing Team.
  • Gaining local customer insight through surveys and word-of-mouth.
  • Tracking all previously set KPIs with weekly where relevant, completing monthly performance reports on marketing activities, and evolving all reporting and KPIS strategically as needed.

You will also be expected to:

  • Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekend and extended workdays are necessary.
  • Execute retailer staff training on our brand, our value proposition and what separates our brand from the competition so that retailers are fully prepared to present our brand to consumers.
  • Create authentic connections within the community and our targeted core demographic on behalf of our brand.
  • Use data systems to identify opportunities for new or expanded distribution, lost sales, incremental volume increases, and other business insights.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Represent our brand at selected festivals and events.
  • Conduct in-field work with sessions with distributor representatives.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key retailers and distributors
  • Ensure that our brands quality standards are clearly understood and enforced by distributors and retailers.
  • Assume a leadership role in implementing key brand initiatives with retailers and distributors
  • Review and understand all legal restrictions regarding our brand in each market and ensure all initiatives are executed within those limitations.

The basics – What we expect you to bring to the table

  • History of working with diverse, unfamiliar groups and teams to move projects forward.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines and deliverables.
  • Passion for the beer industry and the capability to identify and evaluate opportunities, navigate and influence outside of formal reporting lines and produce tangible results.
  • Demonstrable experience managing marketing campaigns and activations.
  • Willingness to travel overnight, reliable transportation, and a good driving record.
  • Excellent oral, analytical, written, and group presentation communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.

  • Strong organizational & planning skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to speak in front of large groups, conduct staff trainings, and host evening functions.
  • A scrappy, can-do attitude that relishes the diverse challenges that start-up life throws at us every day and seeks out opportunities to make a difference.
  • Experience leading consumer-focused projects and/or platforms.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising programs that engage, inform and motivate.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a project from ideation through to implementation.
  • Proven working experience in events or experiential marketing.
  • Willingness and availability to work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision – self-motivated.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in activations.

The perks – Benefits of working at EIGHT BREWING

At EIGHT, we take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We make beer after all. Our mission is to support those that are constantly striving to improve, and making sure they have a cold, refreshing beer to celebrate the wins – big and little - along the way. We live those values ourselves, encouraging each other to live healthy lifestyles, challenging ourselves to consistently seek improvement, and striving to balance work, self, and family.

We’re a young, scrappy new brand here to disrupt a category that’s been taking its drinkers for granted for far too long. While we may not have a huge infrastructure, we also don’t have the accompanying bureaucracy. At EIGHT, you will have ownership of your work and meaningfully shape the course of our growth.

Diversity matters – We are an Equal Opportunity Employer

At EIGHT, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy (including childbirth, lactation and related medical conditions), national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information (including characteristics and testing), military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law. The EIGHT BREWING team believes that diversity and inclusion among our teammates is critical to our success, and we seek to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool.
