Experienced Dog Groomer (50% Commission + Tips)

Canine To Five is seeking energetic animal lovers who would love to groom in a brand new salon with unlimited income potential and excellent benefits! Our top groomer has made over $60K the last 3 years.

We are an upscale pet resort located in bustling Midtown, just blocks from Wayne State University and Whole Foods. Built in 2018, our salon provides gated parking, a receptionist and janitorial crew. Easy on/off access to M-10, I-75, and I-94. Between our grooming clients, and our busy daycare and boarding dogs, groomers can do 6-10 dogs per day, 5 days a week with us. We pay all of our W-2 Groomers 50% commission, in addition to receiving both cash and credit card tips. After 60 days, we offer Blue Cross with domestic partner coverage, vision, dental, paid time off, a simple IRA with a match, Free Pet care, and other perks throughout the year. Our generous clients leave very generous tips. Our ideal candidate will have 2+ years of professional grooming experience, a complete set of grooming tools, and a great attitude.

Requirements:

• Superior ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to meet the physical demands of a groomer position
• Knowledgeable on full service dog grooming, drying methods, brushing, ear cleaning, nail trim and file, oral care, expressing anal glands, pest control
• Ability to work with a team of employees
• Be able to study proportions of animal to determine the most appropriate cutting pattern to achieve desired style
• Customer service skills
• Comb, clip, trim, and shape coats to groom animals using knowledge of characteristics, grooming techniques, and styles
• Flexible availability including rotating Saturdays

Pay Rate:

• 50% Commission
• 100% Tips

Pay: $16.00 - $30.00 per hour
