Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic executive leader to oversee both a People and Project Management. In this role, you will be responsible for driving talent management processes, implementing best practices in project management, and leading strategic initiatives. As a leader within the organization, you will play a crucial role in fostering positive cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  1. People Management: Actively lead talent management processes, including coaching and organizational development activities. Cultivate new project management leaders and conduct talent reviews. Implement training programs to enhance the skills of our project management teams.
  2. Strategic Direction: Set the strategic direction for the PMO and ensure continuous process improvement. Establish and execute best practices in project management to achieve organizational goals.
  3. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with business leadership, IT staff, and other stakeholders in our dynamic business environment.
  4. Vision and Strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership to define a clear vision, strategy, and goals for the PMO. Ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  5. Performance Accountability: Hold the PMO team accountable for individual and team performance, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  6. Project Methodologies: Lead strategic initiatives by applying structured project and program methodologies. Enhance consistency and successful project implementation across the organization.
  7. Metrics and Measures: Incorporate specific metrics and measures into the PMO team and projects to enable continuous improvement. Communicate progress and outcomes to broader teams.
  8. Project Standards: Define and oversee standards and criteria for project requests, evaluation, and funding. Ensure alignment with CDI's business goals and objectives.
  9. Process Definition: Develop scalable processes for project management, tailored to varying project sizes and complexity. Conduct project reviews to monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
  10. Business Case and Metrics: Define processes for clearly defining business cases and associated metrics to measure project success. Facilitate post-implementation benefit measurement and reporting.
  11. Budget Management: Take responsibility for building and managing the annual PMO budget and financials.

Requirements:

  1. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead by example and foster positive cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Team Management: Minimum five years of direct leadership experience with a team of direct reports, including managers.
  3. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience in project and program management. Current or past Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  4. Business Acumen: Past experience leading projects and programs in large organizations with diverse locations, business verticals, and stakeholders. A master's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Information Technology, or equivalent is desirable.
  5. IT Procurement: Familiarity with IT procurement processes and vendor negotiation experience.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
