Job Description

We are looking for an Events Manager who wants to make a difference by organizing well run, fun and delightful swimming events. SwimRVA hosts 60+ events per year; the Events Manager will have the ability to plan events from world class and pro series events, to high school dual meets. SwimRVA aims to deliver an enjoyable event experience that takes into consideration the needs and experience of every competitor, participant, volunteer and spectator. Our Events serve the Richmond region by driving tourism, and inspiring programming that is committed to Drownproofing Richmond. We want you on our team to help SAVE LIVES through aquatics!

The SwimRVA Events Manager Job Duties


  • Execute and support the load-in and load-out of each major event
  • Recruit volunteers and support their ongoing engagement with SwimRVA with a robust appreciation program
  • Ensure effective collaboration with SwimRVA departments and staff to achieve high levels of involvement and training for each contest
  • Interface with various governing bodies of the sport to execute a flawless event and post event experience
  • Serve as Competition Director to ensure a customer focused experience for coaches, athletes, volunteers and spectators
  • Assist in the planning and execution of delightful SwimRVA Events
  • Operationalize a stewardship and appreciation program for all teams who visit RVA
  • Become proficient in all SwimRVA timing systems, scoreboard and streaming operations


Qualifications


  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED and Emergency Oxygen preferred
  • Proficient in database development and management
  • Comfortable with technology
  • USA Swimming Administrative Official preferred, or willingness to obtain
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator
  • Training available to qualified candidates
  • Able to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Strong desire to be helpful and solve problems
  • High energy
  • Proficiency with swim meet management and timing systems; Hytek and Colorado Timing System Gen 7 preferred
  • Follow through approach to tasks and details

  • Salary range starting at $42,000/year or the equivalent of $20.19/hour. Salary will match experience and qualifications.
