Job Title - ETL Engineer

We are seeking an experienced ETL engineer to join our team on a contract basis and help build and maintain our data pipelines. The successful candidate will have strong experience with modern data warehouse modeling and tools, particularly Talend, Azure data warehouse, and SQL.

The ETL Developer will report to the Manager of Business Intelligence and work closely with other IT staff, business users, and the Applications Development team to deliver business tools.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Travel occasionally to locations as necessary and work outside of regular hours as required.
• Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Document ETL processes and maintain EDW documentation
• Work with Azure cloud services such as Azure SQL Database to design and implement modern data warehouse architectures
• Complete tasks in a timely manner, notifying project leads in advance of potential slippages of dates
• Maintain and review security policies
• Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for data transformation and analysis
• Resolve user support issues for BI pipelines via the ticketing system
• Ensure the quality and integrity of data through testing and debugging of ETL processes
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using Talend, SQL, Python, and other tools
• Stay informed on data technology trends and provide recommendations for future actions
• Validate ETL jobs are working as intended prior to releasing to the business for use
• Self-starter than can work autonomously while still delivering expected results
• Ability to analyze and reverse engineer existing solutions when required, and re-develop using industry-standard best practices
• Serve as a technology liaison and provide expert evaluation regarding potential external data tools and applications for consideration
• Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understand data requirements and assist in data modeling
• Participate in after-hours support for the production environment, including on-call support. This will include supporting upgrades or troubleshooting activities that must take place outside business hours.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud systems, data modeling, and data warehousing is a must
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of ingesting data from SaaS systems, but extra points if experience with any of the following: Aptean M2M, Salesforce, WorkDay, OneStream, EtQ, QMS, or Compliance Wire
• 3+ years of experience in ETL development, with a strong focus on modern data warehouse modeling solutions
• Working knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools, such as Jira
