Estimating Assistant Jobs

DMC Facility Services is seeking an Estimating Assistant. The role of the Estimating Assistant is to perform site surveys to assess potential projects, recently completed projects, and projects that are in progress. This includes performing quality control assessments, sales surveys, contractor site meetings, and customer walkthroughs.

Duties and Expectations:

• Communicate any project quality issues and collaborate to put together an action plan to immediately correct any quality issues;
• Partner with Estimating to ensure all the necessary materials, labor, and equipment is accounted for;
• Have a complete understanding of the scope and critical path of each project;
• Review and assess specific sites for potential projects; including utilizing existing forms and layouts and drawing new layouts to obtain all the information that is pertinent to a specific project;
• Determine a cost estimate of an entire project by utilizing all gathered information during site surveys;
• Travel to in-progress and recently completed projects to determine if workmanship has met DMC Standards;

Qualifications:

• Solid working knowledge of computer programs and software; advanced MS Office, Google applications and Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to multitask
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
