General Information
OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for providing professional skin care services. The Esthetician will consult with clients to assess their requirements, make informed recommendations and explain services, assist them with selecting appropriate treatments, and ensure their care and satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- To offer proper home care solution.
- To verify the condition of the facilities and the equipment of the Spa, and to report any damage immediately to the Spa Director
- Anticipate the necessities of the guest, respond precise and respect the guest’s privacy at any time, all along maintain a positive relationship with the guest.
- To attend all departmental and general staff meetings.
- Retail additional spa products
- To provide always a courteous, professional, efficient service and an incomparable service.
- Apply products of the treatment in agreement with the measures and in the established time.
- To offer a warm welcome to the guest, to accompany them to the asked for area, to assure the guest flow and the services within the Spa.
- To make sure that the standards stay daily at the maximum level.
- Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
- To be familiarized with the policies and procedures of the hotel and the Spa.
- Perform a professional service of nails, treatments of hands and feet, as well as technical of massage.
- Maintain inventory products.
- Clean room between clients and set up the area for the next client, in accordance with spa standard set-up requirements.
- Verify medical releases from guests with applicable medical conditions.
- Keep an open and flexible attitude; be willing to change.
- Explain to the guest the benefits and the procedures of the treatments, thanks to a thorough knowledge of the product and its active ingredients.
- Conduct appointments according to guest’s comfort, desire and wellness goals. Follow service protocol.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward guests, co-workers, subordinates, and Director of Spa & Wellness. Do not engage in gossip or any dialogue that may diminish the direction and goals of the hotel and the hotel group.
- All other duties as required.
- To maintain calm and courteous attitude at all times.
- To handle cleaning materials in accordance with the department’s safety rules and use in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
- Assist all other staff at times of need.
- To know all the safety and fire procedures
- Prepare guest consultation. Be thoroughly familiar and able to recommend Spa products and treatments as well as know pertinent hotel information.
- Product recommendation and explanation of advantages and ingredients.
- Offer a customized service to the guest.
- Schedule guest appointments and fill in client history record for each client treated.
- Undertake all the necessary preparations for the service to assure that all the necessary material for the treatment ready and is prepared.
- Respects the privacy of the guest at all times.
- Keep the inventory count of products located in the prep room and the work areas.
- To have a complete knowledge of all the departmental policies, procedures on watch and standards.
- To execute the standards of the Spa in the arrangement of the decoration and distribution of amenities.
- To have a complete knowledge of its work as well as the ability to carry out each one of the functions and tasks listed in this job description
- Ensure that all members receive the Spa customer experience.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
- To verify and to fill up the area of amenities of spa at the beginning, during and at the end of its turn.
- To maintain a clean, disinfected and organized work area at all times.
- Sanitize implements.
- Attends the meetings if it is required.
- To inspect the area of treatments at the beginning of each turn and after each treatment, being made sure that this area is up to standards; making sure that it counts on all necessary products, amenities for the guest, towels, and others.
Other Standard Responsibilities
- Develops and updates policies and manuals, as related to the division/department, for implementation in the field, while ensuring compliance to the same for consistency across the group.
- Complies with the company policies.
- Works within all pre-set budgetary limits
- Is always a “brand ambassador” and ensures brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
- Models the company’s culture, vision, mission, and core values at all times
- Takes on other tasks in addition to the ones stated, in a reasonable framework.
Qualifications
- High school diploma. Diploma or degree in a related field.
- Licenses & Certifications: Cosmetology
Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Esthetician in a luxury spa or salon environment, preferably within a luxury hotel.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 5-20 pounds. Must be able to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, be available at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Pay
The pay scale for this position is between $16.20/hour plus commissions, bonuses, upsell incentives, tips, etc. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
