As our Equipment Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining all equipment for the players and coaching staff. This position will ensure that all equipment is of the highest quality and ensures that equipment is available during special events, travel, practices, and games.
Responsibilities:

DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Oversee and help with the daily set up and take down of team and staff locker rooms.
  • Travel with the team for all home and away games, ensuring the team has all the equipment needed.
  • Conduct routine safety and inventory audits to ensure quality of team equipment.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects while also handling daily operations and organization of practice facility, including maintaining apparel/equipment, and distributing apparel to players and staff.
  • Responsible for managing all the equipment used by the players and coaches which can include basketball balls, uniforms, shoes, and protective gear.
  • Coordinates when equipment is needed at certain locations for special events, practices, and/or games.
  • Manage inventory and quality of equipment, ensuring that equipment is working appropriately and ordering new equipment as needed.
  • Oversee equipment budget and partner with the Assistant GM and Trail Blazers Equipment Manager for any budget concerns.
  • Manage laundry facilities and team gear.
Qualifications:
WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure equipment is organized and properly stored, accounted for, and working up to standards.
  • Ability to problem solve and deliver real-time solutions.
  • Knowledge of properly washing and drying basketball gear.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
  • Familiarity with repairing equipment is preferred.
  • Prior experience or knowledge of working with basketball teams and handling equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in sports science, sports management or another related field, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NBA/G-League uniform rules and uniform guidelines.
