Job Description

This position will be part of NCDEQ's PFAS multimedia team that will be responsible for working collaboratively on site assessments, sampling, data analysis, and industry research.

This temporary positionis located in Raleigh, NC- Wake County.


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $30.00(Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Environmental Quality. This position is located at 217 W. Jones St., Raleigh, NC 27603.


This position would be responsible for assisting in sampling and regulatory efforts which includes data collection, analysis, and management.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Ability to organize and direct complex contracts or research studies/projects.
  • Ability to communicate with the general public and clients of the Division.
  • Ability to organize and supervise the work of others.
  • Thorough knowledge of the research process.
  • Ability to formulate or assist in the development of management alternatives and recommendations.
  • Thorough knowledge of data gathering techniques and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of the scientific principles related to the area of assignment and related fields.
  • Ability to analyze, manipulate and evaluate information/data, including the use of software.

Bachelor's degree in one of the agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences or a closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
