Position Description: Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager

SUMMARY 

The safety manager provides safety and health support to production and corporate personnel. Develops corporate safety and health programs and objectives and coordinates safety training programs. Monitors safety and health regulations and provides support to plant and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Carry out the day-to-day operations of the HSE department and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety and Environmental management by providing support.

General Responsibilities (but not limited to): 

·Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.

·Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation.

·Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.

·Prepare applicable HSE reports, as necessary.

·Provide help and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to management.

·Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis

·Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.

·Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training

·Observe HSE regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working

·practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.

·Ability to work with employees and achieve cultural change in the face of potential

·resistance

·Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our

customers and regulatory agencies.

·Perform other work-related tasks as required as assigned

·Co-ordinate safety related training bi-weekly to all employees and maintain logs and training matrix

·Comply with all Wrap-Tite Company and HSE procedures and policies.

·Assist with HR related tasks as and when needed.

Facility Specific Responsibilities (but not limited to):  

• Walk the manufacturing and Warehouse floor on a regular basis to establish HSE presence

and provide support.

• Conduct daily and biweekly HSE Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.

• Write, implement, and manage HSE Programs, Policies and Procedures

• Perform facility HSE Inspections

• Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use andmaintenance of PPE

• Have knowledge and enforce compliance of Regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA, EPA, etc.),

including company HSE policies and procedures.

• Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance

i.e., labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.

• Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.

• Oversee Behavior Based / Observation Safety Programs.

• Help develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)

• Follow Fall Protection program, inspect all fall protection equipment and maintain inspection

records.

• Ability to oversee Safety Incentive Programs.

• Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard

Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.

·Assist with facilities maintenance

• Perform additional duties as assigned by President or VP Operation.

Qualifications/Requirements: • Must possess an Associate degree or high school diploma or equivalent and be computer literate.  

Exempt or Non-Exempt : Exempt 

Reporting to: VP Operation 

Pay Rate: Level 4 or 5, depending on experience 

Hours Worked/Overtime: As and when needed 

Bonus Details- Annually
