We have an excellent opportunity for an entry-level Scientist in our Honolulu, HI office. This position will include a combination of office-based tasks and field activities, including some neighbor island travel.
What you will do:
You will have daily interactions with clients and a multidisciplinary team of environmental and safety professionals. Specific duties include:
- Assisting in a wide range of environmental compliance projects which could include fuel storage tanks, solid and hazardous waste, stormwater, wastewater, etc.
- Planning, coordinating and leading compliance inspections and regulatory required training efforts.
- Collecting and evaluating data.
- Preparing project documents.
- Assisting in a wide range of safety compliance projects which could include employee occupational health, workplace general industry, industrial hygiene, etc.
- Database management and reporting.

What you will need:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information at an appropriate level of communication with varying levels of project and client staff.
- Attention to detail in following safety plans, work plans, project objectives, collecting data, and preparing reports
- 0-3 years of experience with environmental consulting, including field sampling procedures, , analytical data interpretation and reporting,
- B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Engineer, Chemistry, Geology, or related field.
- Must be comfortable working in office and field environments.
- Experience with or desire to learn occupational safety and health regulations and their proper application in workplace settings.
- Ability to work in both the office and the field independently and with the project team; continual collaboration and communication with the entire project team are a must
- An understanding of environmental science within the Pacific region and/or coastal settings.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly are vital, including understanding how to critically apply environmental, safety, and health requirements appropriately to fulfill project objectives.
Anticipated salary range of $45,000 to $55,000 per year.
