Entry-Level Electronics Technician Jobs

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an Industrial Entry-level Electronics Technician on 1st shift at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant. The Electronics Technician assists the Senior Electronics Technicians and maintenance staff by maintaining all building machinery including troubleshooting, repairing, testing and installing electrical and electro-mechanical devices and components.

The successful candidate will be expected to communicate with the Maintenance Manager, Senior Electronics Technicians, department staff, production supervisors and other members of management and employees in the department to make sure all scheduled and unscheduled repairs are completed in a timely manner.

Additional responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment/machinery
• May perform some mechanical duties on as needed basis
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Operate forklifts, clamp-lifts, genie boom, scissor lifts and other machinery as needed
• Install new equipment according to electrical specifications provided
• Respond to all line calls as assigned and as needs arise
• Attend all required departmental meetings

Skills and Requirements:

• Ability to operate a variety of electrical maintenance tools
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
• High school education or General Education Degree (GED)
• Must possess a wide a variety of personal electrical hand tools
• 2 years of higher education or technical school training preferred
• Entry level computer knowledge
• Good communication skills
• Maintain acceptable attendance
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime and partial weekends
• Visual concentration is crucial
• Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills are essential
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Pay: $26.10 to $27.96
