Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division, is seeking a Entry Level Systems Engineer to support the team in Schriever, CO or El Segundo, CA. Our team focus on the development of new global military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) ground systems that will manage transmission of protected tactical waveform (a type of secure, anti-jam communication) — over Boeing-built Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites and terminals. In addition, the Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

The Entry Level System Engineer will be part of the highly motivated team of system engineers that provides military customer support of satellite operations and sustaining systems engineering for the Wideband Global Satellite Communications (WGS) program. The successful candidate will provide real-time routine and contingency operations support for all on-station WGS satellites. As a member of our team, you will have opportunity to learn about the WGS satellites constellation and different subsystems. You will also have opportunity to advance your career with the satellite sustainment industry and becoming a SME in your subsystem.

This role will include advising the customer in satellite operations and ground command & control sustainment tasks. This position will focus on authoring, reviewing and helping execute satellite operational procedures. Configure and run simulations to support procedure validation. Provide technical recommendations to the customer engineers and operators. Perform satellite data trending and analysis so that spacecraft performance can be monitored and analyzed.
