Entry Level Mechanical Engineer

Navistar is currently seeking an Entry-level Engineer-Mechanical to take our business to the next level!

The trucking industry is going through a dynamic phase driven by rapid advancements in areas such as autonomy, connectivity, and the ever-increasing demand for electrification.

The Product Development Engineer position will support our Research & Development organization (R & D). R & D is responsible for the design and development of the next generation of Navistar engines and vehicles, which include industry leading trucks and school buses.

Responsibilities for positions in Product Validation and Systems engineering may include, but are not limited to:

• CAD Model and print creation/release in NX/Team Center
• In-vehicle testing
• Participation in Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA)
• Support issue resolutions using rigorous problem-solving practices
• Design, develop and implement validation tests on full vehicles, vehicle components and vehicle systems
• Organizing and creating Bills Of Materials (BOMs) for large assemblies
• Creating Component and System Design Requirements Documents (DRD’s)
• Completion of Component and System level Design Verification Plan and Reports (DVP&R)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• At least 2 years of experience in product design/development

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

• Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. • Excellent Communication Skills – both written and verbal
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
