Job Description
Do you have basic to intermediate CAD skills and are wondering if and how you can turn that into a rewarding career? Our Entry-Level Designer position has a little bit of everything. You will train with our current team and learn how to translate NFPA requirements into 2- and 3-dimensional plans. Things like proposal review, permit applications, and submittals are just a few of the things you can expect to land on your desk. You don't have to know what they are or how to do them. But what you have to have is a genuine desire to learn and a preference for detailed and skilled work. If you like the consistency that comes with following a defined process this may be for you.

Every day will be different, but here are some of things you can expect with some regularity:

  • Attend off-site project walk-throughs to ensure installation is following plan
  • Participate in daily or weekly huddles to ensure alignment between design, sales, and operating teams
  • Develop relationships with building departments across the state; learn their different submission requirements and master the permit submittal process
  • Once trained, work independently to develop 2- and 3-dimensional plans for fire protection systems of varying kinds

As part of Encore's mission to be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen, we have recently joined forces with Life Safety Fire Protection based out of Dublin, New Hampshire. This partnership not only allows us to expand our footprint and find top talent in the NH area, it also allows us to work with industry leaders who strive for same level of excellence as we do.

Requirements

  • Drivers license and access to reliable transportation. This position will regularly bring you out of the office, either to job sites or to building departments around the state
  • Experience and/or education in the construction industry is preferred but if you don’t have that, all we ask is for you to show up with a positive, "can-do" attitude, and genuine interest in learning our industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a non-negotiable must as well an overall aptitude for embracing new technology
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time

Benefits

As a company, Encore is hyper-focused on developing a culture that thrives on success and is energized by the fact that we get to make peoples' lives better and safer each day. One of the ways we do this is by generously rewarding all those who contribute to our continued growth. But we also believe that not all rewards are monetary. Here are just a few a few perks that a successful individual in this role can expect:

  • We dress for the objective which means most days we wear jeans but occasionally we wear suits. As long as you know which situations require which (or aren't afraid to ask), you'll be all set!
  • Purpose and results driven work environment (work smarter not harder)
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits through Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Freedom to express ideas - a culture of willingness to test, try, modify, adopt, enhance, improve and CHANGE as needed
  • Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role
  • Participation in Fidelity 401(K) that includes employer match
  • Speaking of attire, we offer all employees Encore when they join the team
  • Company-paid life insurance policy of $50,000
  • Access to leading edge web-based productivity tools
