Under minimal technical direction, individual contributor provides discipline expertise for development, specification and communication of firm's IT architecture. Role involves working in collaboration with various Architects to ensure IT architecture reflects synergies and dependencies with core technology trends and priorities (e.g. Cloud migration, Information Security and Infrastructure), as well as identifying key interactions and dependencies across separate systems and platforms

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

• Collaborates with US Architecture team and European IT functions to promote use of technologies, receive guidance and feedback and ensures business alignment with technologies.
• Evaluates overall risk scores for all technology assets supporting the domain and develops the strategic disposition for all applications.
• Provides oversight and insight to all work in the domain and identify cross domain/ enterprise synergies and impacts across business areas.
• Responsible for developing, recommending and executing strategic and tactical business and technology roadmaps in conjunction with business partners and project teams; describing the evolution of enterprise portfolios from current state to future state.
• Owns conceptual solution overview including contextual, component, integration/data flow designs and systems impacted systems in order to solve business problem.
• Assess business processes related to the business problem and propose an appropriate technology solution components to support these.
• Research industry and emerging trends in technology as it relates to the business domains and recommends appropriate use cases and considerations for advancement.
• Develops and maintains strategic relationships with key partners and technology vendors.
• Maintains the definition of the business domain/ component model and the inventory of the application landscape for the business domain including key capabilities, integrations, and functionality of each application.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Typically a 7 to 10 years of solid, diverse work experience in IT including experience with business analysis and systems architecture methodologies.
• Experience developing 3-5 year roadmaps outlining the evolution of the enterprise application portfolios from current to future state.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and consultative skills to work effectively with vendors, clients, peers, and IT management and staff.
• Expert knowledge of design and implementation of enterprise workflow systems, distributed architecture, intranet/internet architecture, and communication architectures.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary technology and business trends that allows architecture to solve problems in a creative and cost effective manner.
• Must be able to clearly communicate complex technical and business concepts both to business partners and team members.
• Working knowledge of systems architectural concepts and frameworks like TOGAF preferred.
• Competent to work at a technical level of all phases of system architecture design using state of the art decoupled and event based API enabled architecture.
• Applicable certifications preferred.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of the system development life cycle, and architecture methodologies for multi-platform environments.
• Some previous project leadership experience is desirable.
• Understanding of client area's functions and systems, prior insurance experience preferred.
