Job Description
As a Reading/English Language Arts Asset Writer for the Asset Creation team, you will use subject matter expertise to create authentic content for K-12 assessments for state and district clients. Our team creates standards-based assessments and collaborates with education departments, educators, and business partners to create assessments that are accessible for students across the United States. We are looking forqualified R/ELA content experts for a writer-contractor pool with competitive, passage and item-based pay.



Responsibilities: 


Develop original reading comprehension assessment passages and items aligned to specification documents and assignments 


Develop reading passages and items to specific grade levels, standards, requirements, genres, and cognitive complexity levels 


Show creative use of technology-enhanced items 


Enter assets into item banking platforms 


Meet asset deliverable deadlines 


Review and edit assets based on feedback 


Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in education, English literature, or equivalent experience 


Experience In Elementary Or Secondary English Education Is Preferred 


Professional knowledge of English content and educational trends  


Outstanding written communication skills and facility with business communications via telephone and virtual conferencing  


Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills 


Skill in basic software tools and technology and the confidence necessary to work with unfamiliar programs 


Experience Creating Standards Aligned Content Preferred 


Experience creating large-scale assessment passages and items preferred 


Experience Writing Quality Summative Assessment Items Preferred
