Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Technician

Locations: Independence, MO


Job details::-

  • Experience providing troubleshooting services with electrical, electronic, or mechanical components and/or equipment;
  • Experience in the operation of related manual and automated equipment used to perform the production and/or repair of required parts
  • Practical knowledge of mathematics or computer science is required;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience preparing and operating CNC machinery in the performance of tasks, including by not limited to, drilling, grinding, milling, etc., is desired.
  • This technician produces machined items through the use of manual and automated equipment.
  • Great working knowledge of electrical, electronics, and mechanical operating principles.
  • Drafting and machining experience is required. Demonstrable knowledge of science and engineering;
  • The Technician receives technical advice from supervisor or engineer and may be assisted by lower-level technicians and have frequent contact with professionals and others within the establishment, as needed.
  • The Engineering Technician Machinist performs non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents that are not fully applicable, such assignments that are typically parts of broader assignments, are screened to eliminate unusual design problems.


RESPONSIBILITIES::-

  • Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, and selecting methods of data presentation.
  • Developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
  • Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts;
  • Prepares and loads raw materials and parts onto the machine
  • Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapting standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions;
  • Provides semiprofessional technical support for engineers working is such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement.
  • Inspects and measures finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
  • Monitors the machine while tasks are being executed and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
  • Checks and maintains machine daily to ensure the functionality
  • Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
  • Sets the machine to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts
  • Translates instructions into computer commands for the CNC machine to perform the correct functions
  • Performs test runs to check if the machine produces output according to the required specifications.
  • Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and recording test data;
  • Maintains quality and safety standards; keeps records. Maintains equipment and supplies.
