Job Description
Job Summary


  • Works as part of the team to complete Primary and Secondary project tasks under supervision and mentoring by the Project Lead or Manager.
  • Support level position for an engineer with a fundamental knowledge of process control techniques and systems.
  • Knowledgeable to understand the hardware design, system architecture and Networking.
  • May be assigned to small to large Level 1 to 5 projects.


Primary Tasks


  • Capable to drive the projects independently with the direction given by lead engineer.
  • Capable to handle the hardware installation, Instrumentation wiring and loop drawing and its trouble shooting.
  • Assigned to the system installation, Application configuration, field Service activities and trouble shooting.
  • Being responsible for compliance with project Quality and completion of all Quality documents.
  • Ability to troubleshoot difficult control and integration problems with Yokogawa system.
  • Proficiently designing, implementing, and testing a wide range of I/O, basic control functions, interlocks, sequences, operator interface, and other control components on automations.
  • Being responsible for accuracy and completeness of all projects drawings, databases, and documentation.
  • Works effectively in both an individual and team environment. May work on multiple, simultaneous projects and various products of Yokogawa.
  • Able to work independently with the guidance from the Lead Engineer and the manager.


Secondary Tasks


  • Demonstrates knowledge of emerging technologies that apply to control systems and to automation in general.
  • Learns about the architecture and use of one or more Yokogawa control systems through training classes, mentoring of application engineers, self-study as assigned and direct project experience.
  • Being responsible for compliance with project Quality and completion of all Quality documents.
  • Has a fundamental and increasing understanding of process control concepts and techniques.
  • Exhibits the importance of frugal and efficient time management, and reports time promptly and accurately as required by company policies.
  • Travels 30% to 50% of the time.
  • Works cooperatively and efficiently as a member of a project team as assigned by the Project Lead or Engineering Manager.
  • Capable to follow Yokogawa quality procedures and documentation.
  • Understands and follows safe work practices.
  • Participates in in-house and external training and learning activities as directed by the manager.
  • Knowledgeable to work in AutoCAD drawings.
  • Serves as a personal example of frugal and efficient time management, and reports time promptly and accurately as required by company policies.
  • Prepares presentation, and training material for customer and for internal training.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Understands, follows, and continuously promotes safe work practices.
