What we’re looking for in you

Required:

• Current BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Heath Care Provider)
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

• Equivalent Patient Care Experience
• EMT certification on State of Minnesota Registry
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry

The skills/experience you bring as an Emergency Room Technician

Required:

• Must have strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills with a customer-service orientation.
• Ability to independently initiate appropriate tasks within the scope of practice of the position.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.
• Ability to provide an exceptional patient experience utilizing strong customer service skills.
• Ability to provide individualized care and respond to a variety of patient/family preferences.
• Demonstrates basic computers skills or the ability to achieve proficiency within 3 months.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
• One year experience in healthcare setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• Prior experience in acute care or emergency medical services setting
• Knowledge of order sets in Epic
• Knowledge and care in the use of orthopedic equipment
• Knowledge of emergency room patients
• HUC or unit clerk experience
• Microsoft office experience

The purpose of the Emergency Room Technician role

As an Emergency Room Technician you will work under the direction of Registered Nurses or ED Clinicians to assist in the delivery of patient care within the emergency department (ED). The ERT performs fundamental patient care tasks, specific treatments, and procedures, maintains a clean and stocked environment of care, communicates patient care findings and performs duties as assigned by RNs or ED Clinicians.
