Job Description

Electronics Design Engineer

All Temps - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (23000673)


This temporary design electrical engineer will work primarily with our established research team at the University of Pittsburgh on the HL-LHC upgrade of the ATLAS trigger system for the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The incumbent will need modern FPGA design and programming experience. Strong interpersonal skills are required to facilitate close collaboration with project personnel, and other U.S. institutions, and/or at other international institutions.

Designing digital signal processing systems with FPGAs. Developing and implementing hardware and firmware tests. Defining test procedures, troubleshooting the system along with confirmation procedures, stipulations, and enhancement processes. Ensuring systems are reliable, efficient and compatible. Embedded HW & SW integration experience in Real-time operating system environment. Your duties and responsibilities include using software to algorithms, creating component requirements, and participating in internal design reviews.

The incumbent will need to manage their time wisely, as they are required to complete the assigned projects within the given time. They may also take care of the processing and documentation.


Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Electrical Engineering or related field

Strong experience with digital circuit design, in particular proficient knowledge in modern FPGA design and experience with HDL-based design.

Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
