Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is looking for an Electronic Packing Engineer to join our team. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

This position will sit at our Santa Isabel, PR location and is to be worked in a hybrid modality, within Puerto Rico. This role will be the liaison between our Santa Isabel and Aguadilla locations, and report to managers in Aguadilla, PR. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components.
  • Performs engineering duties including manufacturing planning and the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical apparatus to ensure that projects are completed on-time and as per the defined goals.
  • Produces products according to specifications, using the most cost effective and efficient means.
  • Resolves day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption.
  • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
  • Prepares, reviews, design documentation, or operational reports and charts to ensure that progress and performance can be tracked.
  • Designs, fabricates, modifies, and evaluates electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in other equipment and devices.
  • Troubleshoots electrical device problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience reading and understanding assembly drawings, circuit card schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Review production data and identify trends in manufacturing failures.
  • Knowledge on Printed Circuit Design (PCD) or related
  • Evaluate engineering processes and provide recommendations.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, Zuken, Siemens NX, Dassault Solidworks, or PTC Creo
  • Experience with PFMEAs and control plans.
  • Troubleshoot potential causes of production failures and devise a solution.
  • Manufacturing support experience.
    • Review production data and identify trends in manufacturing failures.
