This ECG Technician provides critical ECG-related services to both inpatient and outpatient populations. This position collaborates with other members of the non-invasive cardiology staff in the accomplishment of the Adult ECG/Cardiac Stress Laboratory objectives. Performs 12/15 lead ECGs to medical standard on a diverse patient population utilizing the UCSF standard ECG machine. Performs Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor, Holter, extended Holter, and cardiac event monitor application, device registration into 3rd party vendor websites, and preliminary report retrieval from multiple vendor websites. Performs ambulatory blood pressure monitoring hook-up, download, and report preparation. Provides demographic editing on ECGs for clerical correctness and to ensure accurate billing. Maintains familiarity of the GE MUSE archive system.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

- High School diploma or GED
- At least one or more years’ experience in a hospital or healthcare position.
- Trained in performing 12 lead ECGs.
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide appropriate care based on the needs of a specific individual, including the patient’s age.
- This position covers inpatient and outpatient needs across UCSF campuses.
- Completion of an Electrocardiogram Technician Training (CVT) program or equivalent.
- Experience using the Epic electronic medical record.
- University/teaching hospital experience
- Education equivalent to an AA degree.
- Experience using the GE MUSE archive system
- Familiarity with SpaceLabs Sentinel PACS
- Experience with mobile cardiac telemetry, event monitors, Holters.
- BLS
