Job Description
Role


This is an important position in the company. Certified Electricians contribute to our efforts to deliver a safe and clean product in good working condition that we are proud to present to our guests. They are generally responsible for performing preventative maintenance, taking on larger projects, and responding to service calls as needed. We have high expectations for safety and completing assigned tasks efficiently. Below is a summary of primary responsibilities.


Responsibilities


  • Complete all projects in a competent workmanlike manner (National Electric Code 110-12) and ensure proper recording of time and materials
  • Remove covering panels, wall boards, ceiling tile, dirt, concrete, or other obstacles to reach repair sites and restore work areas after completion of projects
  • Pull wires through conduit, splice wires, and connect wires to lighting fixtures and power equipment using appropriate hand tools
  • Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels
  • Perform all duties which require extensive physical effort, such as climbing, lifting of over 25 up to 60 pounds, pulling, etc.
  • Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing equipment such as ohm meters, volt meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit, using such tools as hacksaws, pipe threaders, and conduit benders
  • Request and/or special order parts and supplies needed to effect repairs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Trace existing circuitry to determine loads, actual and planned. Inspect, test, evaluate, install, and repair electrical fixtures, wiring circuits, generators, motors, controls, and other apparatus
  • Review work orders and job sites to determine materials and procedural requirements
  • Be responsible for the work of apprentices and laborers as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures


Qualifications & Experience


  • Must have a complete set of tools to perform electrical tasks and come ready to work (preferred)
  • Willing to answer emergency calls at all hours, including off hours
  • Able to work well with others
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Six (6) years of recent employed professionally paid electrical work experience
  • Must have the ability to use all power and hand tools associated with the trade and perform all tasks with little or no supervision or assistance
  • Must have a valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Needs to have good critical thinking skills, as well as maintain installations using the best electrical practices
  • Must have knowledge of standard electrical code requirements and the current National Electric Code
  • Must provide own hand tools (required)
  • Must have thorough knowledge of electricity and associated circuits and be able to determine the proper material for each job
  • Bilingual skills – English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Possession of current valid State of Florida certification as an electrician (preferred)
  • Ability to work effectively from ladders and scaffolding with due regard to safety for self and others
  • Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program
  • Must have ability to assume responsibility and effect repairs/complete tasks without assistance
  • Computer skills as required for the position
  • Journeyman Electrician: 10 years (preferred)
  • Possess the ability to effect construction and repairs from drawings or sketches; estimate materials, supplies, and labor costs


Compensation


Starts at $55,000 annually

This is a salaried position that is exempt under the FLSA. The salary will be adjusted based on experience, cost of living, and contribution to the property’s success. Electricians have multiple opportunities for bonuses.
