Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
Electrician, Minimum Salary: $45,133 per year, USC Aiken, Facilities Administration

Under general supervision of Director of Physical Plant, the electrician performs electrical trades related duties with a wide range of difficulty & complexity, specializing in specific trade areas in various kinds of repair, maintenance or construction activities; works on a general maintenance crew involving multiple professional trades skills. May temporarily fill in as supervisor when needed. Considerable knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in general building maintenance and construction. Ability to comprehend blueprints, plans and specifications. Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must possess good communication skills. Must be capable of keeping records (i.e. preventive maintenance, inventory supplies, work orders, etc.) Capable of doing heavy lifting (50 lbs), Must be an approved driver. Must be able to communicate in writing. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Possible overtime may be required. Minimum requirements: High school graduate and 4 years of electrical trades experience. Preferred requirements: Experience in commercial and industrial electrical troubleshooting, repair and construction. Application Deadline: August 24, 2023.
