AECOM is seeking an Electrical Quantity Surveyor to be based in Austin, Texas (Onsite Position).

Job Responsibilities:

• Works with the Company estimating systems and processes.
• Applies estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles.
• Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact the project estimates and begin to assist in quantifying the impact.

Technical Skills:

• Prepares electrical bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids, etc. for projects.
• Coordination with subcontractors
• Cost consulting from inception to completion and ongoing cost advice to clients at a portfolio level.
• Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including the Estimate Plan.
• Performs duties with some complexity under general supervision.
• Compile and record all related documents
• Develops wage rate build-ups.
• Review design change in terms of cost impact (Quotation review for subcontract’s change order)
• Perform value engineering and estimate cost saving due the VE
• Survey of market price for construction materials and labors in various professional level
• Develops cash flow schedules and estimates.
• Review sub contractor’s down time during construction and check cost impact
• Understands the AECOM costing structure (overheads, G&A, insurance, etc.)
• Able to use software such as Navisworks, Autocad, Bluebeam and Trimble to provide cost estimates.
• Make an estimate or quotation for change order or design change etc.
• Reads and interprets drawings and specifications.
• Develops detailed material take-offs for estimate development and field procurement of bulk materials.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction or Electrical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Five-year experience in construction/electrical Quantity Surveying preferred
• 2+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying within manufacturing construction project
• Bilingual (English, Korean) Preferred
• Working knowledge of spreadsheet and database software
• Knowledge of applicable project management and document tracking preferred
• Prior Quantity Surveying experience in construction
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
