Denver International Airport is looking for (2) Electrical Maintenance Workers to join our Electrical department. In this position you will have the opportunity to work and learn about on a vast scale of maintenance and construction-related electrical issues using a wide variety of equipment in virtually all areas of our world-class airport. You will be mentored by experienced Electricians on motors, low to high voltage lines, variable frequency drives, large-scale HVAC systems, signage, lighting, loading bridge, transformers, conduit – and the list goes on.
You will also operate the vacuum truck and help maintain electrical records. Most of our work is focused on maintenance and preventative maintenance of our 53-square mile operations area with some new construction work as well.
  • Replaces or repairs existing wiring systems according to electrical code standards and safety regulations under the supervision of a licensed journeyman electrician
  • Reviews electrical blueprints and schematics
  • Measures, cuts, and installs conductors, wires, and conduits under the supervision of a licensed journeyman electrician
  • Performs preventative maintenance on electrical systems such as servicing, lubricating, rebuilding, and fabricating new circuits, updates the equipment wiring, and replacing parts under the supervision of a licensed journeyman electrician
  • Repairs and replaces defective electrical parts such as wiring, fuses, outlets, switches, breakers, and sensors
  • Maintains tools and equipment and keeps electrical supplies and parts in order
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
  • Inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems by utilizing electrical testing devices and checking switches and wiring for grounds and shorts or loose connections
About You

  • Two years experience working with electrical systems for a mid size company
  • Currently pursuing a journeyman's electrician license

  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
  • This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application
  • A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements
  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
  • Two (2) years of experience in wiring, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems

FBI Background Check: An FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony conviction and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance / be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.

Shift Work / Snow Duties / Emergency Incidents: this position does require shift work as DEN is a 24/7/365 operation (includes nights, weekends and holidays). Mandatory extended/additional shifts can be required. Additionally, this position is required to work mandatory snow duties, which vary and can include nights, weekends and holidays.
