Electrical Maintenance Engineer Jobs

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is a direct hire position working for a specialty chemical client in the Lake Charles, LA area. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer position could also be a temp-to-perm position.

• Participates and/or leads in the investigation and follow-up documentation of high impact or high potential impact incidents.
• The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for Management of Change (MOC) for the assigned area, assist with turnaround scope development, and initiating change requests during turnarounds for impacts to electrical equipment, motors, switchgears, transformers and the like.
• The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations to understand needs and requirements and to provide a design and installation package.
• This position is to assure proper design, change management, installation, and repair of electrical equipment according to regulatory standards.
• The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing electrical engineering expertise to the site.
• Audit, and improve instrument and electrical equipment PM programs to ensure the health and effectiveness of the systems based on equipment failures, process changes and PM data.
• This position will be the focal point for all changes involving, but not limited to; MV/LV motors, MV/LV switchgear, motor control centers/starters, transformers, and variable frequency drives.

Qualifications
Electrical Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

• Knowledge of relays and protection systems, switchgear, transformers, motors etc. is required
• Candidates should be located within daily commuting distance of Lake Charles, LA.
• BS in Electrical Engineering, and 5 years of Electrical Maintenance or Reliability experience required
• Knowledge of economic evaluation methods (Life-Cycle Cost Analysis, NPV, Benefit/Cost) desired
• Knowledge in Reliability Centered Maintenance or some form of Asset Management Plan Development is needed
• Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
