Job Description
Job Title: Electrical Lab Technician
Job Location: Southfield, MI

What You'll Do
  • Interact with hardware and firmware engineers to communicate results
  • In-vehicle integration and installation of prototype data acquisition systems
  • Work from product specifications and written/verbal instructions
  • Harness manufacturing, qualification, testing and modifications
  • Read schematics and assist in PCB bring up and debug. Create rework documentation
  • Utilize hand tools, microscope, and soldering equipment
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work requests; IE. harness fabrication, board work, vehicle builds, harness troubleshooting, project boxes, etc.
  • Efficiently and effectively perform assembly, testing & troubleshoot/repair of R&D hardware prototypes
What You'll Bring
  • Able to solder and inspect PCBA’s
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a strong attitude towards safety and quality
  • Strictly adhere to company guidelines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft desktop environment: Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to take direction
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving ability
  • General Vehicle Knowledge
  • Proficient with Oscilloscope, meters and other test equipment
  • Have good attendance and actively participate in team meetings
  • AA Degree or 3 years work experience is preferred in related discipline but not required.
  • Be able to use general garage and power tools
  • Proficient in using system interconnect schematics to troubleshoot problems
  • Be willing to ask questions, communicate, and learn new things
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles and ability to read and comprehend work instructions, schematics and design documentation
  • Adhere to ISO 16949 procedures to maintain compliance
  • Maintain a clean and ESD safe work area
