Summary

:

The Elections Data Analyst I provides data and analysis for election performance evaluation and metrics, media request, litigation needs, and other purposes as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES

:

+

Generate, analyze, and present data from multiple sources to the Election Division staff, media, State Election Board, and other entities

+

Maintain security of networks and sensitive data

+

Provide customer focus and superior data quality

+

Work with data modeling, design patterns, and applies data ingestion best practices

+

Work with large data sets using SQL and other data management tools

+

Assist with the sampling, coding, programming, and weighting of data

+

Utilize mapping and plotting tools to visualize models, election projections, and other information

+

Create memos and presentations to effectively communicate survey results and targeting recommendations based on models

+

Locate and gather data from multiple sources and databases

+

Prepare reports and presentations as needed

+

Develop projections and models of trends and changes in election from available data

+

Lead and deliver data centric projects on time, with concentration on data quality

+

Create and maintain a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation

+

Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

:

One (1) year of experience performing data management or analysis utilizing system administration standards for a variety of data management, and/or reporting technologies and analytics packages

Working knowledge with Microsoft skills (Excel, Word), data entry, and word processing

Advanced public relations skills and customer service

Preferred Qualifications

:

+

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or similar field

+

Mathematics or Statistics background a plus

+

1-3 years of relevant professional experience in analytics performing exploratory data analysis to understand the characteristics of a data set and identify patterns

+

Proficiency in SQL, including experience retrieving data from relational databases

+

Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, including manipulating large datasets

+

Working knowledge with Oracle, MySQL, Tableau, QlikView or similar reporting and BI packages

+

Familiarity with software development methodologies like Agile, including issue/workflow tracking tools like Jira and Trello and version control tools

+

Experience with Alteryx, R and Python

+

Familiar with System Administration standards for a variety of technologies including Linux based applications

Bachelors Degree *and* One (1) year of work related experience OR Associates Degree in Business Administrative Technology *and* Two (2) years of related work experience Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
