Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Rd. Plano TX 75093

Work hours: Full-Time: Days - 8:00AM-4:30PM. Rotating Call and Holidays

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
• 6 Months direct patient care experience if currently enrolled in an accredited neurodiagnostic education program required or
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
• Read, write, and speak English; Proficient in operation of standard Windows/PC operations; ability to transfer digital data on various media. Must be able to see digital or LED computerized screens for clinical task completion.
• No experience required if completion of an accredited neurodiagnostic education program required
• 1 Year EEG experience required or

What You Will Do

Performs EEG Tests as appropriate

• Performs test in a timely manner.
• Checks bio-cal and calibration of EEG machine before and after each test.
• Differentiates between electrode artifact and true abnormal brain wave activity.
• Uses proper patient identification.
• Upon completion, competes requisition, logging and placement of test for interpretation.
• Reports malfunctions to manager.
• Knows correct recording electrode as well as their appropriate sites.
• Makes all previous applicable procedures available for interpretation.
• Performs EKGs as requested by department.
• Performs test on adult, pediatric and neonate patients.
• Performs patient assessment to assure diagnostic testing is relevant to patient testing needs.
• Replaces any malfunctioning cables or electrodes.

Provides patient care

• Respects patients cultural and religious beliefs.
• Communicate age appropriately.
• Pulls curtain/closes door for tests.
• Serves as a patient advocate.
• Approaches patient in a professional manner.
• Treats all patient information as confidential.
• Explains requirements needed to perform quality test to patient.
• Greets and acknowledges patients.

Demonstrates working knowledge of safety, infection control and aseptic techniques

• Cleans machines.
• Washes hands between patients.
• Wears gloves, gowns and eye ware as required.
• Disposes of contaminated materials.

Demonstrates Accountability

• Uses good interpersonal skills.
• Supports team members.
• Communicates effectively.
• Enhances patient care skills.

Assists in meeting departmental/hospital KPIs related to:

• Customer satisfaction.
• Financial performance.
• Organization effectiveness.
