Job Description

Position Summary:
The EEG Monitoring Tech monitors inpatient Video and EEG recording for an uninterrupted clean recording and responds to patients' events. They are effective communicators in a multidisciplinary work environment.

Qualifications:
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of one (1) year previous experience as patient care provider (HCT, MA, CMA, Telemetry Tech, EKG Tech, etc)
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Organizational ability necessary. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others. Ability to accept and institute changes. Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and skills essential.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Effectively communicate with multidisciplinary staff and "hand off" pertinent patient information.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to accurately document patient information in the EMR system.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and network issues with scope of training.
  • Computer/Epic proficiency
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Effective communicate events to the Epilepsy Team in a timely manner.
  • Ability to recognize and detect changes in the recording of the Epilepsy patient
  • Respond to patient events timely and accurately while maintaining patient safety according to policy and procedure of the EMU.
