Job Description

The Education Services Program Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of engagement delivered through on-the-ground events, activities, conferences, workshops and training and ongoing special initiatives specifically intended for the education community including teachers, administrators, specialists and support personnel state-wide. They play a key role in administering grant and funding proposals, oversight of budget, deliverables and impact measurement. The program manager is also charged with cultivating and building partnership opportunities with like-minded community organizations to enhance the efforts of others working towards the betterment of North Carolina's youth; and forge relationships and establish advisory groups with experts and stakeholders from both formal and non-formal education communities. This position is responsible for the recruitment, training and supervision of state-wide educational trainers and specialists contracted to deliver educational enrichment aligned with the core curriculum of PBS NC's programming and educational resources including but not limited to PBS Learning Media. This individual must help drive the Education and Innovation division's mission to serve educators, children, their families and communities throughout North Carolina with wholesome and compelling educational experiences. The individual serving in this position must possess a commitment to reaching all learners and educators (home school, public, charter, and private), creating equitable opportunities and spaces for all.


This position may be eligible for a hybrid or remote work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.


Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
