AtFaith on View, we have noticed a trend of websites answering questions about faith, God, the Bible, etc. with dogmatic certitude while reducing the diverse perspectives and complex history of Christian ideas down to milquetoast simplicities.Faith on Viewis looking to develop a resource that responds to people's legitimate questions about faith, history, and scripture in a way that honors the diversity and complexity of Christian thought.

We are developing an editorial team of thinkers and writers who wish to help us develop this meaningful resource. Members of the Editorial Team work together in a process of writing and responding to the writing of other team members to produce thoughtful long-form content that responds to major questions related to Christianity.

The basic format of the Question pages will be to list the question that the team is responding to such as, for example, “What is love?” (the #1 googled question related to faith) with a response to the question written by the editorial team. The responses will be called responses rather than answers as some of the questions will be difficult questions that Christians throughout history have disagreed upon. We will seek to respond to these questions thoroughly providing perspectives from various traditions when there is historical or contemporary disagreement. Comments will also be left open on these pages to engender discussion on the subject. A comment policy will be developed to prevent trolling and attacking comments.

The typical response will be 2,000+ words as long-form content is more productive in today’s Google ecosystem. Though some questions may require shorter responses. The tone of the writing is to be thoughtful, popular level informed by scholarship but not written at a scholarly level.

We expect that members of the Editorial Team to review (edit & add to) one Response every three weeks. Some team members will also want to write original pieces and they will have six weeks to complete those if they so choose. Members of the Editorial Team who meet expectations will be eligible for revenue sharing in the Questions section of FaithonView.com. 50% of revenue generated by Questions (based on the pageviews) will be paid to the Questions Editorial Team. This remuneration will no doubt be extremely modest in the beginning but as these thorough answers merge with our dedicated SEO efforts and the number of Responses grows, we expect the profitability to grow significantly over time.

We are looking for diverse theological perspectives in this project. While advanced degrees in theology and religion are appreciated, we will also allow thoughtful team members without such academic qualifications.
